Marking the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state of Tripura has joined the nationwide observance of "Seva Pakshakal", a fortnight-long campaign dedicated to public service and welfare activities. As part of this initiative, the "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign was officially launched on Wednesday and will continue until October 2, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the state-level campaign at a special event held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala. The launch witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, government officials, and members of civil society.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha underlined the significance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a healthy environment. "A beautiful environment can only be created if we maintain cleanliness. In this regard, everyone must work with a sense of social responsibility," he said.
The "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign encourages public participation in cleanliness drives, sanitation awareness, and community involvement in sustainable waste management practices. Across the state, various departments, schools, municipalities, and local bodies are organizing activities such as cleanliness drives, awareness rallies, and community outreach programs.
The campaign aligns with the larger national vision of a Clean India (Swachh Bharat) and aims to strengthen the culture of cleanliness and civic responsibility among citizens.
