A Jansuraksha Campaign was organized on Tuesday at Purba Andharchera Gram Panchayat under Pecharthal RD Block by Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB), aimed at promoting financial inclusion and extending government-backed social security schemes to rural communities.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including Sri Satyendra Singh, Chairman of TGB; Sri Diganta Das, Deputy General Manager, NABARD; Onsing Marchang, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India; Kamales Dhar, Additional District Magistrate of Unakoti district; Onkar Deb, BDO of Pecharthal; and Sajal Chakma, BAC Chairman of Pecharthal RD Block.

The program was also supported by TGB Banking Correspondents and the TGB Bank on Wheels—a mobile banking service vehicle that provides doorstep financial services in remote areas.

As part of the campaign, villagers were provided with the opportunity to: Renew their KYC (Know Your Customer) documents. Enroll in key social security schemes such as: Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).

The initiative was well received by the local community. Many villagers availed the services and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to access essential banking and insurance products without having to travel long distances.

Officials highlighted the importance of such outreach programs in achieving inclusive growth and ensuring that financial services reach the last mile. The campaign reflects the ongoing efforts by the government and financial institutions to bring rural populations into the formal banking system and improve their financial security.
