Tripura Celebrates Vishwakarma Puja with Traditional Devotion and Festivity
Sep 17, 2025
Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion across Tripura on Wednesday, as workers from various sectors came together to worship Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and engineer of the gods.
The occasion saw enthusiastic participation from artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, welders, masons, industrial labourers, and factory workers, who offered prayers seeking the deity’s blessings for safe working conditions and the smooth functioning of their tools and machinery.
Across the state, the festival was observed in a vibrant and inclusive manner. Pujas were organised in almost every locality, including bus terminals, auto-rickshaw and cycle-rickshaw stands. Vehicles were adorned with garlands, flowers, and colourful streamers, while many engineers and technicians refrained from using gadgets and machinery for the day as a mark of reverence.
Workplaces such as factories, garages, warehouses, and workshops remained closed, allowing workers to fully participate in the celebrations. Devotional songs echoed through the air as labourers enjoyed special feasts and rituals throughout the day. Idols and framed photographs of Lord Vishwakarma were installed at various establishments, including automobile shops and even inside cabs and buses.
The celebrations not only highlighted the cultural significance of the festival but also reflected a deep sense of respect and gratitude among workers towards their tools, machines, and professions.
