Sep 16, 2025
Tripura is all set to celebrate Vishwakarma Puja on Wednesday, September 17, with preparations in full swing across the capital city and other parts of the state.
Markets in key areas such as Battala, Gol Bazar, and Math Chowmuhani have witnessed heavy footfall since Tuesday morning, as people rush to purchase items needed for the celebrations. Colourful pandals have been erected, and the city is adorned with decorations in anticipation of the festival.
Vishwakarma Puja, observed annually on September 17, honours Lord Vishwakarma, regarded in Hindu mythology as the divine architect and engineer of the universe. He is believed to be the creator of the holy city of Dwarka, along with many celestial weapons used by the gods.
In various parts of Tripura, devotees are preparing to celebrate the occasion with religious fervour and enthusiasm. Special prayers and rituals will be offered in homes, temples, and workplaces, especially in factories, workshops, and industrial units, where Lord Vishwakarma is worshipped as the patron deity of artisans and engineers.
Large gatherings are expected in pandals across the state, where people will offer prayers and seek blessings for prosperity, safety, and success in their professional lives.
Security arrangements and crowd management measures are also being put in place by local authorities to ensure smooth and safe celebrations.
