Assam Rifles Organises Awareness Lecture Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Assam Rifles, the oldest paramilitary force of the country and famously known as the Sentinels of the North East, organised a special awareness lecture for its personnel as part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The session was held on 13 September 2025 and focused on spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The initiative aimed to sensitise troops about the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug and alcohol addiction. Soldiers were educated on how substance abuse not only affects individual health but also has far-reaching impacts on families and the broader community.
During the lecture, the importance of maintaining a drug-free and disciplined lifestyle was strongly emphasised. The session also highlighted the role of armed forces personnel in setting an example for the rest of society by leading lives rooted in responsibility, health, and commitment.
By conducting such programmes, Assam Rifles reinforces its commitment not only to national security but also to the welfare of its personnel and the communities it serves. This initiative is part of the force's broader efforts to contribute meaningfully to building a healthier and stronger nation.
