Bihar Duo Nabbed with 6.3 Kg Ganja Worth Rs 1 Lakh

In a major blow to interstate drug trafficking, the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Agartala Railway Station arrested two individuals on Saturday night and seized over 6 kilograms of cannabis from their possession.
The operation was conducted on Platform No. 01, where GRP officers intercepted two suspicious passengers—Nitish Kumar (25) and Chanda Kumari (24), both hailing from Bihar. A thorough search of their luggage led to the recovery of 6.305 kilograms of ganja, concealed in a handbag and a backpack. The seized narcotics carry an estimated black market value of approximately ₹1 lakh.
Police have registered a case under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Agartala GRPS police station. The accused are currently in custody as investigations continue to determine the source and potential destination of the illegal consignment.
