Curfew Extended in Kathmandu Valley Until September 12, Says Nepali Army

The Nepali Army has announced the extension of the ongoing curfew in the Kathmandu Valley, covering the districts of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, until 6:00 AM on Friday, September 12 (Bhadra 27, 2082). The decision comes in light of the prevailing security situation in the region.

According to a statement from the Army, the prohibitory order will remain in effect throughout the day and night, with limited exceptions for essential services. Vehicles and institutions providing critical services will be permitted to operate during the curfew.

To ease the impact on daily life, authorities have allowed a temporary relaxation of the curfew on Thursday, September 11. Movement will be permitted during two time windows: Morning: 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Evening: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The Army has urged the public to utilize these time slots responsibly and to operate in small groups when procuring daily necessities, in order to maintain public safety and order.
