Sep 10, 2025
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the State-Level Exhibition on New Criminal Laws at the Indoor Exhibition Hall, Hapania, Agartala.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha said the introduction of three new legislations under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks a historic transformation in India’s legal system. The laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023 — are aimed at making the criminal justice system more transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
“These landmark reforms reflect the government’s vision of ensuring speedy justice, fairness, and greater accountability in legal proceedings,” the Chief Minister said.
The exhibition showcased key features of the new laws, their significance for the public, and the shift they represent towards a modern, people-centric justice delivery framework. The event was attended by legal professionals, students, officials, and members of civil society.
