Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurates 132 kV power sub-station

Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday inaugurated a 132 kV power substation at Manu in Tripura, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to strengthening power infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity access for all.

The newly inaugurated substation is expected to benefit approximately 21,554 households in Manu and surrounding areas, significantly improving electricity availability and reducing load issues in the region.

“Ensuring easy and equitable access to electricity across Tripura is one of our top priorities,” said Nath during the inauguration ceremony. “This substation is a step forward in that direction.”

Over the past seven years, Tripura has generated 29 megawatts (MW) of electricity from solar energy. The state government now aims to scale up solar power generation to 150 MW within the next two years, as part of its broader push toward renewable energy adoption and sustainable development. “This is not just about infrastructure—it’s about empowering people and building a brighter future,” Nath added.
