Celebrating Culture: Over 650 Students Shine at West Tripura District Kala Utsav

The vibrant corridors of Maharani Tulsibati Girls' Higher Secondary School in Agartala came alive this Tuesday as the West Tripura District-level Kala Utsav kicked off with a grand cultural display. The two-day festival, aimed at nurturing artistic talents among school students, saw the enthusiastic participation of over 650 students from 60 schools across the district.

The event was formally inaugurated by Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, who emphasized the importance of cultural education in shaping holistic individuals. She was joined by Corporator Ratna Dutta and several other dignitaries who graced the occasion with their presence.

Students from classes IX to XII competed across 12 categories, including classical and folk dance, vocal and instrumental music, theatre, painting, and sculpture. The school premises turned into a celebration of youthful creativity, traditional art forms, and community spirit.

“This festival is not just about competition—it's about celebrating diversity, talent, and expression through art,” said one of the organizers. The winners from the district-level event will now get the opportunity to represent West Tripura at the state-level Kala Utsav.
