CM Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurates Capacity Building Workshop on Panchayati Raj
Sep 01, 2025Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday inaugurated a two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Panchayati Raj at the State Panchayat Resource Centre in A.D. Nagar, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots governance.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister called upon Panchayat representatives and officials to carry out their duties with full accountability and dedication towards public welfare. “The three-tier Panchayati Raj system plays a crucial role in ensuring that the benefits of government schemes and initiatives reach the grassroots level,” Dr. Saha said.
He highlighted the present State Government’s focused efforts on empowering Panchayats to serve as engines of rural economic and social development. He stressed that a strong Panchayati Raj system is essential for inclusive growth and for bringing administration closer to the people.
Dr. Saha also praised the implementation of the e-Office initiative, which he said has brought greater transparency and efficiency to the functioning of Panchayats. The digital system enables timely delivery of services and better coordination among departments, improving citizen satisfaction at the rural level.
Also present at the event was Minister for Panchayat Department, Kishor Barman, who reiterated the government’s vision of empowering rural institutions and enhancing the capacity of local governance bodies.
