In a major operation by the Border Security Force (BSF), five Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian accomplice were arrested in the border area of Tripura's Sepahijala district. The arrests took place in the Yatrapur police station area, where the suspects were attempting to enter India illegally and secure fraudulent Aadhaar cards for work in India.
The BSF operation, carried out by the 69th Battalion, resulted in the detention of the group, who were reportedly trying to obtain counterfeit Aadhaar cards in exchange for 40,000 Indian Rupees. The cards were being provided through a well-organized smuggling network, and the suspects were promised the documents in just two days.
The arrested individuals are identified as: Bappi Kumar Dey (31), a resident of Bhawanipur, Tripura, India. Abdul Matin (26), from Chattogram, Bangladesh. Abdul Chottar (18), from Bangladesh. Nurul Alam (30), from Bangladesh. Mohammad Hasan (20), from Bangladesh. Mohammad Arman Hossain (19), from Bangladesh.
Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Yatrapur police. Investigations revealed that the group was being aided by a local Indian youth, whose identity is being withheld at this time. The youth is believed to have played a role in facilitating the illegal entry of the Bangladeshis and their acquisition of fake identification documents.
