Minister Bikash Debbarma joins tree plantation drive to mark Van Mahotsav


As part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations, Minister for Tribal Welfare, Bikash Debbarma, participated in a tree plantation programme held at Molla Para Junior Basic School in Ramnagar, West Agartala, on Thursday.

The event was organized by the Department of Economics and Statistics, Government of Tripura, with the aim of promoting environmental conservation and raising awareness about sustainability.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Debbarma highlighted the importance of trees not only in preserving ecological balance but also in building a healthy and sustainable society for future generations. He lauded the initiative under the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" (A Tree in Mother's Name), calling it a powerful symbol of love, respect, and responsibility toward nature.

“Trees are not just protectors of our environment — they are a living commitment to a greener and healthier future. This initiative will surely inspire more citizens to come forward and contribute towards building a greener Tripura,” said the Minister.

He urged everyone to join hands in protecting nature through tree plantation and take collective action to build a prosperous and eco-friendly Tripura.
