In a significant boost to Tripura’s power infrastructure, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday inaugurated a 132 kV transmission line and feeder at the Agartala Railway Station Complex. The project marks a transformative step towards modernising the state's energy network and enhancing the reliability of power supply.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Nath described the development as “a shining chapter in the history of Tripura’s power journey,” stating that the new infrastructure will not only ensure a more stable and uninterrupted electricity supply but also infuse new energy into the state's transportation and connectivity framework.
“This initiative opens the door to a new horizon of power stability. It will illuminate Tripura in more ways than one—making rail journeys safer, smoother, and faster,” he added.
The newly commissioned 132 kV transmission line and feeder are expected to significantly reduce power outages and improve operational efficiency at one of the state’s busiest transit hubs. It also aligns with the broader vision of infrastructural advancement in the Northeast region.
With this step, Tripura continues its push toward integrated development, ensuring that modernization reaches even the most critical utility sectors like power and transport. The project stands as a testament to the state government’s commitment to sustainable growth and technological upgrade.
