Health Secretary assures improved medical services at AGMC & GBP hospital

In response to growing public concerns over the availability and quality of healthcare services, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte addressed the media on Sunday during a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club. The focus of the briefing was the current operational status of the Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital.
Acknowledging the concerns raised by citizens regarding service delivery, Gitte assured that the government is taking proactive steps to maintain and enhance patient care standards. “We are committed to providing high-quality healthcare to the people of Tripura,” he stated, adding that several initiatives are underway to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of hospital services.
The Health Secretary also outlined measures being implemented to upgrade infrastructure, streamline service delivery systems, and address staffing shortages across departments.
Joining him at the press meet was Dr. Sankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent and Head of Department at AGMC and GBP Hospital. Dr. Chakraborty elaborated on the operational challenges the hospital has been facing, including high patient load and limited resources. He detailed several corrective actions being taken to overcome these hurdles and enhance the overall quality of care.
The press conference aimed to reassure the public that the administration is fully committed to addressing the existing challenges promptly and ensuring uninterrupted and improved healthcare services at the state's premier medical institutions.
