IPFT holds mass gathering on 17th Tipraland Statehood demand day

The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) organized a large public gathering at Bodhjung Chowmuhani on Saturday to mark the 17th Tipraland Statehood Demand Day. The event was attended by party leaders, supporters, and members of the indigenous community, reaffirming their longstanding demand for a separate Tipraland state.
Tripura’s Cooperation Minister and senior IPFT leader, Sukla Charan Noatia, was present at the event along with other key leaders of the party. Addressing the gathering, the leaders reiterated IPFT’s commitment to securing constitutional rights and self-determination for the indigenous people of the state.
As part of the observance, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of the late IPFT founder and former party president, N.C. Debbarma. The tribute was a mark of respect for his lifelong dedication to the rights and identity of Tripura's indigenous communities.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with attendees holding banners and placards in support of the Tipraland demand. Speeches delivered during the program emphasized unity, cultural preservation, and the need for political empowerment of the tribal population.
The Tipraland statehood movement, led by IPFT since its inception, seeks the creation of a separate state for the indigenous people under Article 3 of the Indian Constitution. Saturday’s gathering served as a reminder of the party’s resolve to continue pushing for this demand through democratic and constitutional means.
