Digboi Police Station named best in Assam by Ministry of Home Affairs


In a significant recognition of excellence in policing, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has awarded the prestigious Best Police Station Certificate to Digboi Police Station in Assam’s Tinsukia district. The honor comes as part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, which commemorate 75 years of India’s independence.

According to an official notification (DGP-GEN011/2/2024-GEN-DGP-APHQ-Assam) issued by the Assam Police Headquarters in Guwahati, the award recognizes Digboi Police Station for its outstanding performance in maintaining law and order, its efficient public service, and its dedication to community-oriented policing.

The Officer-in-Charge of Digboi Police Station, Divya Jyoti Dutta, will formally receive the certificate from the Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, during a ceremonial function scheduled to be held on August 26 at the Conference Hall of Assam Police Headquarters in Ulubari, Guwahati.

The recognition highlights the hard work and professionalism of the Digboi Police team, which has played a pivotal role in ensuring public safety and building trust within the local community. Officials noted that the station has consistently demonstrated high standards of discipline, efficiency, and public engagement, making it a model for other police stations across the state.
