CM Dr. Manik Saha unveils "Viksit Tripura 2047" Vision Document

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Friday unveiled the vision document "Viksit Tripura 2047", outlining the state's long-term development strategy aligned with the national initiative "Viksit Bharat @2047". The document was officially released at a ceremony held at Pragya Bhavan in the presence of state ministers, top bureaucrats, and officials from various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Saha emphasized that Tripura is the first northeastern state to formulate such a comprehensive vision under the "Viksit Bharat 2047" initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the goal is to build a prosperous, empowered, safe, and sustainable Tripura that aligns with both environmental harmony and modern development standards.
"Our aim is to create a model state that guarantees a better quality of life for every citizen by 2047, when India completes 100 years of independence," the Chief Minister said.
A documentary on "Viksit Tripura 2047" was also screened during the event, showcasing the roadmap and achievements of the state.
Key Focus Areas of the Vision Document: Empowerment of Farmers and Rural Development, Health Sector Modernization, Digital Governance, Sustainable Industrial Growth, Women and Youth Empowerment,Self-Reliance through Local Resources and Innovation.
Over 4.26 lakh citizens have received Ayushman Bharat cards, with more than 8,000 patients availing cashless treatment. E-Office platform successfully implemented up to village and panchayat levels, making Tripura the first state in India to achieve this. This has significantly improved transparency and administrative efficiency. Unified Farmer Database has been developed, integrating land records and real-time crop surveys.
Significant growth in bamboo, rubber, and forest-based industries, generating thousands of livelihoods. Policies such as the Tripura IT & Startup Policy 2019, Tripura Data Centre Policy 2021, and Tripura Agarwood Policy 2021 have attracted noteworthy private investments in the state.
Widespread access to clean drinking water, rural electrification, and solar energy initiatives have substantially improved the standard of living.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Tripura’s growing importance under India’s Act East Policy, aimed at enhancing economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and strategic partnerships with Asia-Pacific nations. He reiterated that local resource utilization and citizen empowerment will remain central to Tripura’s growth journey.
“Self-reliance is the foundation of Viksit Tripura. Innovation, sustainable living, and people-centric policies will guide us forward,” he added.
