Tripura Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Tripura joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and grandeur. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha led the celebrations by hoisting the National Flag at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala.
The Chief Minister inspected the ceremonial parade and felicitated distinguished officers for their outstanding contributions to public service and administration. The event honoured the legacy of India’s freedom fighters, whose sacrifices and unwavering struggle paved the way for the country's independence from British rule.
In his address, Dr. Saha highlighted the achievements of the state government across multiple sectors and reaffirmed its commitment to people-centric development. He also reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for adopting Swadeshi products and working towards a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat).
“The freedom we enjoy today is a hard-earned result of the countless sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. It is our duty to honour their legacy by building a stronger, self-reliant nation,” the Chief Minister said.
The celebration concluded with a colourful cultural programme that reflected the rich traditions, diversity, and patriotic spirit of India. Traditional dances, musical performances, and themed presentations showcased the cultural vibrancy of the state.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Pal, Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag Dhankhar, and senior officials from the civil and police administration.
