‘Coolie’ Takes a Rs. 70 Crore Lead Over ‘War 2’ at Worldwide Box Office; Rajinikanth Set to Reign Supreme

Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film 'Coolie' is already rewriting box office history even before its release, as it surges ahead of the much-anticipated action thriller ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr.

With just a day and a half left until its grand Independence Day release, Coolie has recorded a staggering Rs. 85 crore in advance bookings at the worldwide box office. The film is now racing towards the unprecedented milestone of Rs. 100 crore in advance sales alone, a feat never before achieved in Indian cinema.

In comparison, War 2, part of the popular YRF Spy Universe, has garnered Rs. 15 crore in advance bookings globally. This puts Coolie ahead by a massive Rs. 70 crore, giving it a significant early lead over the high-profile action sequel.

This extraordinary pre-release response positions Coolie as the clear front-runner in the box office battle, with trade experts predicting a historic opening for the Rajinikanth-starrer. The buzz surrounding the film suggests that it could set new benchmarks for Indian cinema in terms of opening day and opening weekend collections.

Despite the strong advance numbers for Coolie, the ultimate outcome will still depend on audience reception once both films hit theatres on Thursday. While War 2 has had a relatively modest start, strong word-of-mouth and franchise loyalty could still help it perform well post-release.
