Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Thursday visited the Brahmakunda Tea Estate and Processing Factory, operated by the Tripura Tea Development Corporation Limited (TTDCL), in Simna. The visit aimed to review the current operations of the estate and factory and assess the efforts being made to promote tea production in the state.
During the visit, officials from TTDCL briefed the Governor on various aspects of tea cultivation, processing, and marketing strategies. He interacted with the factory employees and plantation workers and appreciated their dedication towards maintaining the quality and heritage of Tripura tea.
Governor Reddy emphasized the importance of promoting local industries, noting that the tea sector in Tripura holds the potential to play a significant role in the state’s economic development. He advised TTDCL to adopt modern technologies and explore new markets both nationally and internationally to enhance competitiveness.
He remarked, “With its favourable climate and geographic conditions, Tripura has immense potential in the tea industry. By embracing innovation and expanding market reach, the state can establish a strong identity in the Indian and global tea markets.”
