Founder of the Tipra Motha Party and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday to discuss the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, an agreement aimed at safeguarding the rights of the Tiprasa people in Tripura.
During the meeting, Amit Shah assured that the Government of India remains committed to fulfilling its obligations under the accord. He also promised to personally oversee the implementation process to ensure that the promises made to the Tiprasa community are upheld.
Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma described the discussion as positive and said the assurance from the Home Minister is a significant step towards the welfare and development of the indigenous Tiprasa people.
The Tiprasa Accord, signed earlier this year, seeks to provide greater autonomy and safeguard the cultural and political rights of the Tiprasa community. The agreement has been welcomed by tribal groups in Tripura, who hope it will lead to enhanced development and recognition.
