Minister Tinku Roy meets Union Minister Dr. Sukanta Majumdar
Aug 01, 2025In a significant step towards enhancing cooperation between the Centre and state governments, Tripura’s Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, and Labour, Tinku Roy, met with Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the North Eastern Region, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, in New Delhi on Friday.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and featured in-depth discussions on key issues related to youth development, education, employment, and social welfare — particularly with regard to the Northeastern region. Both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure effective policy implementation and inclusive growth across the region.
Minister Roy outlined several initiatives currently being undertaken by his departments in Tripura, aimed at empowering youth and improving social welfare. He expressed a strong interest in partnering with the central government to expand educational access and employment opportunities for young people in the state.
In response, Dr. Majumdar appreciated the efforts of the Tripura government and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to supporting such initiatives. He stressed the need for integrated strategies to uplift marginalized communities and promote sustainable development in the Northeast.
