Chief Minister Dr. Manik on Thursday inaugurated a state-level training camp for Medical Officers (Dental) and Community Health Officers (CHOs) at Pragya Bhavan. The programme is being conducted under the National Oral Health Programme and the National Health Mission (NHM), in collaboration with AGDC and the Indian Dental Association.
The training camp aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of dental and community health professionals who play a pivotal role in delivering quality healthcare services at the grassroots level.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Chief Minister Dr. Manik emphasized the importance of continuous professional development for healthcare workers. “Medical Officers (Dental) and CHOs are instrumental in extending primary healthcare services to the last mile. Their dedication and service are critical to building a healthier society,” he said.
As part of the event, the Chief Minister also flagged off two modern Blood Transport Vans, which will be deployed to Kailashahar and Bishalgarh hospitals. These specially equipped vehicles are expected to significantly improve the state’s capacity for timely and safe blood transportation, particularly in emergency situations and remote areas.
“This is a vital step towards strengthening our healthcare delivery system. Ensuring timely availability of blood can save countless lives, and these vans will help us bridge logistical challenges,” Dr. Manik added.
The event was attended by senior health officials, representatives from the Indian Dental Association, and participants from across the state who will be undergoing the training.
