CM Dr. Manik Saha lauds TMC for exemplary Healthcare and Social Initiatives

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday praised Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital as a shining example of quality healthcare in the state. Speaking at a special event organized at the hospital's Vivekananda Auditorium, the Chief Minister highlighted the institution’s on-going commitment not only to medical excellence but also to community welfare.

"I have had a long professional association with this institution," Dr. Saha said. "It has consistently gone beyond healthcare by engaging in meaningful social welfare initiatives that benefit the broader public."

The event was jointly organized by the hospital administration, TMC Employees’ Association, and the Rotary Club of Aspiring Agartala. Several impactful initiatives were launched during the program: Free distribution of orthotic support devices to patients who had undergone knee and hip replacement surgeries, Free eyeglasses provided to children under the age of 14 with vision issues, A voluntary blood donation camp, where the Chief Minister personally encouraged donors. The ceremonial inauguration of a two-day tree plantation drive, titled ‘Van Mahotsav’, within the hospital premises.

Dr. Saha emphasized that such socially-driven healthcare efforts not only humanize medical services but also inspire a sense of awareness and responsibility among citizens.

“These initiatives reflect a compassionate approach to healthcare—one that blends service with social responsibility,” he added.
