Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reported back-to-back net profits in the third and fourth quarters of the financial year 2024–25, signalling a significant turnaround for the state-owned telecom company. Union Minister for Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced on Monday that BSNL recorded a net profit of ₹260 crore in Q3 and ₹280 crore in Q4 of the fiscal year.
Addressing the media in New Delhi following the first of two high-level Chief General Manager (CGM) Review Meetings organized by the Department of Telecommunications in collaboration with BSNL, Minister Scindia highlighted several key achievements that have contributed to the company's improved financial performance.
He revealed that BSNL achieved its highest-ever capital expenditure (Capex), investing nearly ₹25,000 crore in FY 2024–25. The substantial investment has been directed toward expanding the telecom infrastructure, enhancing network coverage, and improving service quality.
Additionally, the Minister noted a steady growth in BSNL’s customer base, which has increased from 8.55 crore in June 2024 to nearly 9 crore as of July 2025.
“This consistent financial performance is a reflection of the transformational initiatives undertaken by BSNL and the strong support from the Government of India,” Scindia said, expressing optimism about the public sector company’s future trajectory.
