Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited GB Pant Hospital late Sunday night to meet Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers who were injured in an alleged attack by TIPRA Motha party activists during a public screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 124th episode of Mann Ki Baat programme in Asharambari.
According to reports, the incident occurred during the 124th episode of the Prime Minister’s monthly radio address, when a group of miscreants allegedly affiliated with the TIPRA Motha party suddenly attacked BJP supporters attending the event. Several activists sustained injuries in the violence.
Three of the injured BJP workers are currently undergoing treatment at GB Pant Hospital. The Chief Minister interacted with them and instructed hospital authorities to ensure the best possible medical care.
Condemning the incident, Dr. Saha said on social media, “I strongly condemn the violent and undemocratic attack by TIPRA Motha party workers during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme at Asharambari. Several BJP activists were injured, and three are currently being treated at GB Hospital. I have directed the police to take strict action against the perpetrators. Such disgraceful acts will not be tolerated.”
