Finance Minister reviews progress of budget initiatives for Social Welfare and Urban Development

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy convened a high-level review meeting on Friday to assess the progress of various budget announcements pertaining to the Social Welfare & Social Education and Urban Development Departments.
The meeting was aimed at evaluating the implementation of key schemes and initiatives introduced in the current state budget. Special emphasis was placed on improving the efficiency of service delivery and ensuring that welfare benefits reach the intended beneficiaries on time.
Also in attendance were Minister for Social Welfare & Social Education, Youth Affairs & Sports, and Labour Tinku Roy, along with Mayor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder. Senior officials from both departments participated in the meeting and presented detailed progress reports on ongoing projects.
During the review, the ministers stressed the importance of effective coordination among departments to facilitate the smooth execution of welfare programmes, particularly those aimed at supporting marginalized communities and enhancing urban infrastructure.
Finance Minister Roy underscored the need for continuous monitoring and strict accountability to achieve the objectives outlined in the budget. He also directed departmental officials to promptly identify and resolve any obstacles hampering the implementation process.
