Bangladesh Air Force Training Aircraft Crashes in Uttara, One Confirmed Dead


A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed this afternoon in the Uttara area of Dhaka, killing at least one person and injuring several others, according to officials.

The aircraft, an F-7 BGI fighter jet, went down on the field of Uttara Milestone College during a training mission, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

A duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room stated that they received an emergency call about the crash shortly after it occurred. Three firefighting units were immediately dispatched to the site.

"Rescue operations were launched swiftly. At least one fatality has been confirmed so far," the officer said. However, the identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed.

Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos as army personnel rushed to assist injured students and secure the area. Rescue teams were seen carrying the injured away from the field.

A senior official at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed the incident but declined to provide further details regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the pilot. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
