International Chess Day Celebrated in Tripura with State-Level Blitz Tournament and Website Launch

The All Tripura Chess Association (ATCA) celebrated International Chess Day 2025 with great enthusiasm by organizing the Tripura State Selection FIDE Rating Blitz Chess Tournament 2025 at the Chess Hall, NSRCC, on Sunday.
The event saw active participation from chess enthusiasts across the state, aiming to earn FIDE ratings and showcase their skills in the fast-paced blitz format. The tournament was part of ATCA’s broader effort to promote chess as a competitive and educational sport in Tripura.
As a major highlight of the day, ATCA President Abhijit Moulick officially launched the association’s new website — www.tripurachess.org. The website is designed to provide players, coaches, and fans with easy access to tournament schedules, rating updates, training resources, and news related to chess activities in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Moulick emphasized the importance of digital platforms in connecting the chess community and supporting the development of the game at the grassroots level. He also highlighted ATCA’s commitment to organizing more FIDE-rated events in the near future to create opportunities for local players.
The celebration of International Chess Day and the successful conduct of the tournament reflected the growing popularity of chess in Tripura and the state’s dedication to nurturing young talent through structured competition and modern initiatives.
