Union MoS for transport Dr. V K Singh lays foundation stone for school building in Dhalai

The Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh laid the foundation stone of a new school building of Madhav Chandra Para in Mainama under Manu block of Longtharai Valley of Dhalai district on Monday.

MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Sambhu Lal Chakma, MDC of TTAADC Sanjoy Das and Dhalai District Magistrate & Collector Govekar Mayur Ratilal were present in the ceremonial function.

“The present government aims and prioritizes overall development of people living in remote areas with the help of the administration and with the cooperation of the citizens,” the MoS said, adding that a project work of establishing a new Medical College in Dhalai district, Head Quarter is expected to commence soon.

Meanwhile, the MP for East Tripura constituency Rebati Tripura said, it is important to update courses and exercise a better educational system for welfare of the students of rural areas.

The cost of constructing two-storied new school building will be covered under RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) in the present financial year. The estimated cost of the project is 8.67 crore rupees. The new building will have 22 classrooms, three science laboratories, two administrative blocks and a library.

The MoS General V. K. Singh on Monday also visited and checked the ongoing construction projects of NH-8 (A) from Manu to Sakhan Saimun. During his visit, the Minister of State had also interacted with the officials and workers of NHIDCL.
