Amid the rain havoc in the neighbouring Assam, the Union ministry of Petroleum had dispatched around 500 kilo litre of petrol and High Speed Diesel for the state of Tripura.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on his social media handle on Friday said that the tankers had already started for Tripura. He however appealed to the people of the state not to panic and adequate supply of petroleum is ensured by the centre.

Earlier, the Union Minister of State for Social Empowerment and Justice Pratima Bhoumik spoke with Union Minister of State for Petroleum Rameshwar Teli and the central minister assured that sufficient fuel would be sent to Tripura via tankers.

The government order imposed restrictions on the sale of motor fuel up to Rs. 200 per vehicle for two-wheelers, Rs. 300 per vehicle for three-wheelers and Rs. 1,000 per vehicle for four-wheelers with effect from May 17.
