The routine meeting of the AMC’s South Zone mainly focused on development and upgradation of the ward offices, installation of community and public toilets as per the requirements and intensification of cleanliness drive under the Swachch Bharat Mission programme, said Mayor Deepak Majumder.

He said, “During the meeting we have also decided to clear the illegally encroached bazars along the roadside as this has been causing difficulties in traffic movements. We have identified several such places including MB Tilla, Battala Howrah bridge, Shankar Chowmuhni, Lake Chowmuhni and others.”

He however said that the AMC has been working to render better services to the common citizens.
