The Left parties in the state of Tripura have extended their support to the "Bharat Bandh" called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha on September 27, demanding a repeal of the three farm laws of the Centre.

The opposition Communist Party of India and Marxist (CPI-M) on Tuesday organized a mass convention here at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan in solidarity to the ‘Bharat Bandh’. Former chief minister and currently the opposition leader Manik Sarkar, CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Choudhury among other party leaders and workers remained present in the convention.

“The BJP government at the centre is turned to be the enemy of general people of the nation including the farmers, labours, students, and all other sections. This government is for the capitalists,” said Manik sarkar while addressing a gathering in the convention.

He also said that the farm laws have been passed to help the capitalist of the country and not for the welfare of the farmers. “This farm bills shall immensely benefits foreign and domestic corporate to reap super-profits, imposing misery both on the farmers and the people, Sarkar viewed.

Sarkar said, “The BJP government at the centre is discovering an attack upon the democratic rights of the people of this nation especially of the farmers by suppressing the peaceful protest of the farmers over repealing of farm bills.”
