Responding to the demand of the United Christian Forum for Human Rights which sought rescheduling the election to Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (ADC), the State Election Commission on Friday deferred the poll to April 6 and announced the counting on April 10.

The forum in its letter to the commission has demanded to postpone the schedule of the poll which as per the earlier notification was on April 4 as the date collided to Easter Day – Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As per the new schedule announced today the election to all 28 elective constituencies of the ADC will come off on April 6, 2021 and the counting of ballots will be taken up and concluded on 10 April, 2021 . Earlier the state election commission had fixed the poll date on April 4, 2021 and counting on 8th April, 2021.
