PM Modi-Hasina to dedicate Maitri Setu over River Feni in Sabroom

At a time when the state of Tripura is celebrating the 3 years completion of BJP-IPFT government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina will on Tuesday dedicate the newly built Maitri Setu over river Feni flowing between the Indian boundary in Tripura and Bangladesh. Symbolizing growing bilateral relations and friendly ties between India and Bangladesh, the Maitri Setu is built at the project cost of Rs. 133 Crore. The 1.9 km long bridge joins Sabroom in India with Ramgarh in Bangladesh.

PM Modi and his counterpart Hasina will inaugurate the bridge virtually from Delhi and Bangladesh. The inauguration ceremony shall be aired live from Agartala Swami Vivekananda Ground in presence of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Governor Ramesh Bais and others.With the dedication of the bridge Tripura is all set to become the Gateway of North East' with access to Chittagong Port of Bangladesh, which is just 80 Kms from Sabroom. 

PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple infrastructure projects in Tripura during the event which includes Integrated Command and Control centre at Agartala, Agartala-Udaipur NH08, 40000 PMAY(Urban) houses, state PWD roads and others. Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for setting up an Integrated Check Post at Sabroom. It will help ease the movement of goods and passengers between the two countries, provide new market opportunities for products of North East states and assist seamless movement of passengers to and from India and Bangladesh.
