CPI(M) makes way out to announce candidate lists amid rift between ruling BJP and ally IPFT

At a time when the ruling BJP party in Tripura is still in bicker with its alliance partner IPFT over contesting the ensuing ADC poll, the opposition CPI(M) party has made out its way out from all odd to announce the party’s candidate lists for the poll.The opposition CPI(M) party is now all set to contest the 25 seats in the ADC with the rest 3 seats to be contested each by the CPI, RSP and Forward Block.

Announcing the candidate lists here at Agartala Melarmath party headquarter the Left front convenor Bijan Dhar said that 17 of the CPI (M) nominees for 25 seats are new and will contest for the first time while four women candidates, the largest number ever, have been nominated for the polls. Jharna Debbarma (Maharani-Teliamura), Jayasri Debbarma (Ramchandraghat), Anjana Koloi Debbarma (Takarjala-Jampui Jala) and Mayarani Debbarma (Amtoli-Golaghati) are among the 4 women candidates nominated for the poll scheduled to be held on April 4.

“The last three years of the BJP-IPFT coalition government in Tripura has done nothing for the tribal or the indigenous people in ADC,” alleging this Dhar has come up confident of sweeping the ADC poll this year. He said, “If the election to the TTAADC is conducted free and fair, the CPI(M) shall surely sweep the poll to ensure better livelihood for the tribal in ADC.” “We have seen how the previous elections held in Tripura under the rule of BJP-IPFT government is turned into farce,” adding to this Dhar said, “We appeal to the election commission to ensure free and fair election and counting of vote this time.”
