Ahead of the ensuing ADC poll, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP’s) alliance partner in Tripura IPFT has strengthened their pre-poll demand of ‘Tipra Land’ Separate state and called for 24 hours ‘’bandh’ in the ADC areas of the state on October 15. IPFT chief also the state revenue minister of the coalition government in the state N C Debbarma on Wednesday told tripuratoday.com, “We have called this bandh in support of our demand for separate state Tipra Land.”

“Meanwhile on October 15 a four-member team of IPFT MLAs under the leadership of Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia shall fly for Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah,” adding to this Mr. Debbarma said, “The IPFT shall apprise both the PM and HM of many pending issues including status of high level Modality Committee and empowerment to TTAADC.”

He said, “It has been since 2 years that the high level Modality Committee has been constituted by the centre to upgrade the socio, economic and cultural status of the people in ADC but this seems to have failed tabling any further report.”

Meanwhile, the IPFT spokesperson Mangal Debbarma in the recent past has said that the IPFT is keen to go for an alliance with the ruling BJP party to contest the ensuing ADC Poll only after seat adjustments. He however has clarified it saying that the IPFT is also to battle this ADC poll alone if no positive stand comes from the BJP party.
