The National Students' Union (NSUI) state pradesh committee today sought appology from Chief Minister Bippab Kumar Deb over his alleged threatning to section of journalists of Tripura. The NSUI in a press communique today stated that in view of the open threatening of CM to section of journalist and reporters of different news paper and electronics media houses and also over the attack upon a journalist within 24 hours of the CM's threatning, the chief minister should resign from his post and express appology.

"The increasing rates of invasion on reporters by shutting their mouth and closing various media houses throughout the state since new government is formed came into throne is an act of deprivation of fundamental rights of reporters which perhaps cites an example of demolishing of fourth pillar of constitution," NSUI stated.

However, it is worthwhile to mention here that soon after the Chief Minister Biplwb Kumar Deb was heard openly threatening to section of journalists in Tripura and attacked upon a journalist identified as Parashar Biswas allegedly by the armed activist of ruling BJP party, a journalist and a media forum also the opposition congress party and different other organisations have come up condeming the incidents and seeking an appology from Chief Minister
