6 COVID patients in Tripura booked for violence against doctor

At least six COVID patients in Tripura are booked from two COVID Care Centres (CCC)s in Agartala for obstruction in the duty and violence against doctors. All of them are booked with non-bailable section under the Epidemic Disease Act 2020 (EDA-2020).

Talking to Tripuratoday.com this evening the District Magistrate (DM) of West Tripura district Sandeep Mahatme said, “A total of four COVID patients are booked from Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel CCC for abusing, obstruction in the duty and violence against District health Officer (DHO) and rest 2 so far are booked from Hapania CCC for the same offence.”

He said, “All of them are send to institutional quarantine for observations as per the norms as they were discharged from the CCCs. After the observation they shall be produced before the court.” Meantime, the DM told Tripurtoday.com, “They were booked with non-bailable section under the Epidemic Disease Act 2020.” However, earlier the state law minister Ratn Lal Nath condemned the incident and warned of stern action such crime against front line Corona warriors like doctors.
