1100 SPOs to be recruited in Tripura; Cabinet decides to recruit 8 additional DM

The Tripura government has decided to recruit Special Police Officer (SPO). Cabinet minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday briefed the cabinet decisions of the council of ministers and told media that a total of 1100 SPOs will be recruited. He said that state will have to bear an annual expenditure of Rs. 8,12,59,000 in connection with the deployment of SPOs across the state.

Nath said, “Of the existing 2789 SPOs 398 will be recruited in drivers’ post.” Meantime, the minister said that the cabinet today also approved to create ex-cadre posts to recruit a total of 8 additional District Magistrate (DM) for the priority projectors in 8 districts of the state.

“The additional DMs will be recruited to boost implementation of different government schemes in all the 8 districts of the state,” adding to this Nath said that there are schemes like Atmanirbhar Bharat, Atal Jal Dhara Mission, resettlement of Bru refugees and others to be implemented in the districts.
