Tripura records 27 COVID-19 active cases; CM urges not to panic

The North eastern states of Tripura is put on high alert after more 13 Border Security Force (BSF) jawans including 2 kids tested COVID-19 positive in 138th battalion of BSF camp in Ambassa under the Dhalai district of the state. Earlier on Sunday 12 jawans were tested positive who were reported to be in contact with 2 jawans tested positive on Saturday.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb addressing the people of this state in his social media handle this evening has informed this and urged upon not to panic and abide the guidelines of Corona lockdown.The 13 additional BSF jawans including 2 kids tested positive for Coronavirus today were reported to be in contact with the 12 jawans tested positive earlier on Saturday.

However, of the total 29 COVID-19 positive cases reported in Tripura so far, 2 were earlier discharged after successful recovery and rest active cases rested at 27 and all of them are BSF jawans including 2 kids.

Meantime, Chief Minister said, “12 BSF personnel who were found COVID-19 Positive on May 3 last, have been shifted to GBP hospital on Monday for better treatment.All of them were asymptomatic and now under proper medication.” He however stated, “Condition of all the patients are now stable and responding to the treatment.”
