Centre approves logistic hub in Tripua's Sabroom town: CM

The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has agreed to the proposal of Tripura government in setting up of logistic hub in Sabroom town bordering to neighbouring Bangladesh in South Tripura district. In a letter to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on April 30, the ministry has asked the bank to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) soon. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took on to his social media handle to inform this and thanked the Prime Minister Narenda Modi and Union Minister for Industries & Commerce Piyush Goel for agreeing to the state’s proposal.

“On behalf of People of Tripura, I thank PM Shri Narendra Modi ji & Union Minister for Industries & Commerce Shri Piyush Goel ji for their sincere efforts on agreeing to our proposal of setting up a Logistics Hub at Sabroom.: the social media post of Mr. Deb reads.He stated, “The central government has asked Asian Development Bank to prepare Detail Project Report at the earliest.”

“Tripura is soon going to have Logistics Hub. The Logistics Hub will help entire North East Region export industrial and food items via Chittagong Port transforming Tripura into a Gateway to the entire North East Region,” Mr. Deb said.The letter to the Dy. Country Director of ADB from the ministry has marked a copy of letter to the secretary of industry and commerce department of government of Tripura, Dr. Kiran Gitte.
