In Diwali, Tripura CM performs 'Mangal Aarti' in Tripura Sundari Kalyansagar lake

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb accompanied by his better half also eminent social worker Niti Deb today took part and performed 'Mangal Aarti' along the Kalyandagar lake in Temple City Udaipur's Tripura Sundari Temple premise. With this 'Mangal Aarti' for the first time in the history of above 500 years old temple, the Chief Minister has began the three days long Diwali festival this year.

The Chief Minister also the Chairman of Tripura Sundari Trust was accompanied by his cabinet colleague state tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy while he performed 'Mangal Aarti' in Kalyansagar lake at 4:30 AM today. "This is for the first time the ritual of Mangal Aarti took place in Tripura Sundari temple's Kalyansagar lake," adding to this Mr. Deb said, "From now on every morning this ritual will be performed prior the Puja of Goddess Kali in the lake."

"This ritual never took place earlier and was not included in the administrative policy," he said today while addressing a gatheirng of devotees after the 'Mangal Aarti'. Like every year, this year too the three days long Diwali festival has began from today at Udaipir Tripura Sundari temple. Various stalls including government stalls highlighting different developmental schemes in the temple premise, while the temple is decked up with colorful lights attracting the devotees from the state and abroad.
