Creating a history and in yet another major embarrassment for the police administration, the BJP lead coalition government in Tripura lead by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who also holds the home port folio today suspended at least 2 IPS officers as police failed to nab former PWD minister of the then Left front government Badal Chowdhury over corruption charge.

The suspension has come up today after police despite series of raid and search in operation cordoning off the capital town has failed to nab Badal Chowdhury. The district court on Wednesday rejected the interim bail petition of Mr. Chowdhury who is accused of getting indulged in Rs. 600 crore alleged PWD scam. The 2 IPS officers includes DIG Arindam Nath snd SP West Ajit Pratap Singh. All of them including other police officers were suspended today for an indefinite period bringing a new twist in Badal Chowdhury arrest case.

Ever since the court has announced its judgement against Badal Chowdhury, a huge contingent of police cordoned off the entire capital town especially the CPIM party office and MLA hostel and conducted series of raid and failed to nab Badal Chowdhury. And most interestngly despite conducting a raid lead by DGP A K Shukla himself along with other top cops here at MLA hostel, Mr. Chowdhury managed to rest at closed door.
