Teachers'day celebration in Tripura: CM becomes teacher for a day to apprise students of 'LAKSHYA'

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today took class of the students in Agartalaa Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School and apprised the students of the new initiatives undertaken by the present government in education sector so as to improve and upgrade the sector. The students were also acknowledged about the ‘Notun Disha’ (New Direction) programme of the BJP led coalition government in Tripura. Interacting with students of Class 11 (Science) at Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School in Agartala today, the Chief Minister asked the students of which foreign country was PM Narendra Modi visiting at the moment.

He also told them about NaMo app and said they could download it to get latest updates about Modi. However, later interacting with the media the Chief Minister said, “This was my first experience as a teacher and it was great to interact with the students.” He said, “The BJP led coalition government in Tripura has given top most priority in the education sector and we are trying to focus on reshaping the sector by introducing series of new initiatives that could help bring quality education in Tripura.”

“We have introduced LAKSHYA  a special scholarship programme to support the civil service aspirants to take coaching for UPSC examinations outside the state,” adding to this Mr. Deb said, “Tripura is the only state in Northeast from where least number of IAS and other cadres are there in the administration even after 47 years of attaining statehood. We need to change this now and introduce a new era in education sector.” Governor Ramesh Bais, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath and MP Pratima Bhowmik also took class in government schools.
