Flash floods hit Assam, Manipur and Mizoram

Torrential rainfall in Assam, Manipur and Mizoram in past few days has caused massive landslides and flash floods in several parts of the three north eastern states.Due to incessant rainfall, sevearl parts of the Assam are reeling under flood. The

National Highway 37 has submerged under flash flood water at Bokakhat and Kaziranga area in Golaghat district due to continuous rains in past 48-hour.The administration has been stopped traffic at National Highway 37 at Bokakhat area due to flash flood.

Around 10 villages in Bokakhat sub-division have been affected in the first wave floods.The flood water has inundated few parts of Kaziranga National park and no reports on animal casualties. Several schools, government offices in Bokakhat, Kaziranga area have been submerged by flood water.Following torrential rains,

Water levels of Brahmaputra river and its tributaries flowing above danger level marks in various places in Assam.On the other hand, overflowing Katakhal river has inundated several villages in Hailakandi and Karimganj district in Assam’s Barak valley.
