e-tendering in Tripura to bring in transparency soon

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devvarma on Friday stressed on administrative accountability and said his government is committed to provide “transparent governance” at all costs. The minister was addressing gathering at Agartala Pragna Bhawan in the workshop on e-tendering

.The newly formed BJP-IPFT government has decided to scrap the manual tendering process in government departments and replace it with online tendering and procurement systems to bring in transparency.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devvarma, who also holds the finance portfolio, on Friday inaugurated the Workshop on e-tendering held at Agartala Pragna Bhawan and said that all administrative procurement and management would be henceforth done through e-tenders aiming to get a transparency in the functioning of government departments.

Meantime he continued saying that as per the new regulations set forth by state government, any tenders above Rs. 3 lakh would have to drawn through e-tenders. Details of any work order of Rs. 25 lakh value or more would be displayed on government websites for accountability.

However, The minister further added in his speech that some departments of the government have fared well in adapting to the new system of e-tendering while some others have not. Principal Secretary (finance) M. Nagaraju and other officials remained present in the workshop on Friday.
