IIIT college in Tripura soon to give world class training

As per the direction of the centre, the Northeastern states of Tripura to soon have its first ever Indian Institute of Information Technology college to encourage the youths to study job-oriented courses within their region. This has come up on Thursday in a cabinet decision of setting up the institution at Tripura Budjongnagar industrial estate.

To cope with the growing need of information technology in every sphere and to push youth to study job-oriented courses, The Northeastern states of Tripura to soon have its first IIIT college at the state's Budjongnagar industrial estate covering around 52 acres of land though Public Private Partnership model, informing this the state education minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday after the cabinet meeting said, "The total project cost rested at Rs. 128 crore of which the state government shall bear a total of Rs. 50 crore 67 lakhs whereas the central government shall floor Rs. 73 crore 60 lakhs."

"As per the Public-Private-Partnarship (PPP) model, the ONGC and NEPCO has shown their willingness," adding Mr. Nath said, "NEPCO has floored Rs. 56 lakhs and ONGC has floored Rs. 2 crore 67 lakhs for setting up the IIIT." Meantime the minister briefing the media at the civil secretariat on Thursday has blamed the previous Left front government of showing a lethargic attitude despite the centre has directed the states to set up IIIT in the year 2012. However, the state education minister Ratan Lal Nath also said that the decision of setting up IIIT institute has come up to eradicate unemployment in Tripura and which shall also encourage the youths to study job-oriented courses within their region. He also said that the IIIT college also aims to give world class training to the unemployed youths.
